On July 7, the IRS joined a motion in federal litigation in Texas, taking the position that the Johnson Amendment is unconstitutional because it violates the First Amendment rights of houses of worship to the free exercise of religion and freedom of speech.

Nebraska DOL Releases Paid Sick Leave Poster and Model Employee Notice

The recently-enacted and amended Nebraska Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (“Act”) requires, among other things, that covered employers give employees written notice regarding the Act’s requirements by September 15, 2025 and at the commencement of employment thereafter. In addition, the Act mandates that covered employers display a poster that requires the information required in the employee notice.
